You're new in Vienna, have completed your mandatory school education, and want to jump straight into the next phase – be it high school (Gymnasium), technical school (HTL), business school (HAK), or aiming for an apprenticeship to quickly learn a secure and promising profession. Time to make moves and shape your future!
Then you're in the right place with Jugendcollege StartWien!
We support you in learning German quickly, prepare you well and quickly for school or an apprenticeship, and together, we search and find a spot for you in a secondary school or a suitable apprenticeship!!
The youth college is structured in modules - you learn what you need for school or training and have lessons until 3 p.m. at the latest. You get to know other young people and are part of a community - joint activities, excursions and trips are also on the program!
If we have found you a school or an apprenticeship, we are still here for you! Do you have a test coming up? Is your German homework difficult? With our Lernhilfe we support you and help you to continue on your path successfully! Do you have problems, stress with your trainer or questions? Then you can come to our advice center up to 6 months after completing the youth college!

Target group
Adolescents and young adults aged 15–25 with a positive compulsory school leaving certificate and primary residence in Vienna
Class times
Mon–Fri 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. or 1–5 p.m. (A1–A2)
Mon–Fri from 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m. (B1–B1+)
(20–30 hours per week)
Course duration
Depending on the needs of the participants until placement (from 6 months to max. 2 years)
