Strong women send strong signals on International Women's Day
On Saturday, March 8th, International Women's Day, we at Interface Wien made a strong statement in two ways – on the streets and in City Hall!
In cooperation with the Wieden Library, the participants of our Basic education offer Mama lernt Deutsch made a strong statement for women! As part of a wonderful initiative for International Women’s Day by Wieden Library they designed in the creative workshop "Join in! Demo Posters," signs with messages and slogans for International Women's Day that were particularly important to them: "Strong Women, Strong World," "Protect Women from Violence," "Equal Pay for Equal Work," and "Angry Women Will Change the World" were just a few of the diverse mix of topics and demands. Participants and teachers then marched through Favoritenstraße with the posters and placed a visible statement at the fountain on Mozartplatz.
And we were also part of the Programme for Women's Day at Vienna City Hall There, exciting insights into the diverse range of services available for women in Vienna were shown – including services for newcomers! The Interface Wien team informed dedicated visitors, multipliers, and private individuals who support asylum seekers about our counseling and educational projects for immigrants.
An inspiring day full of exchange and empowerment! A heartfelt thank you to all the committed, strong women!
