Insight, exchange and empowerment: A visit to the women's center of the ÖIF
Together with the participants of the StartWien Hub we visited this time a special place: the women's center of the Österreichischen Integrationsfonds (ÖIF).The visits were designed exclusively for our participants in their first languages – Dari/Farsi, Somali and Arabic – thus enabling a particularly low-threshold and understandable introduction to the offer.
Thanks to this language-sensitive design, the women were able to better grasp the diverse range of services offered by the women's center: from individual women's counselling to German conversation courses, as well as exciting excursions and workshops.
The participants took the opportunity to ask many questions, share personal concerns, and exchange ideas directly with the experts on site. Particularly encouraging was the fact that several women immediately expressed interest in various services and events.
An inspiring visit that demonstrates how crucial accessible, multilingual information services are for a good start in Vienna.
