JuCo has got talent – JuCo goes opera!
Standing on a real stage for once! This dream will come true for five participants of our project Jugendcollege StartWien this summer!
Both employees and participants at Interface Wien have various talents! On the initiative of our wonderful German trainer Andrija Repec, who also works as evening director at the opera, the actor and director Cornelius Obonya and the director Carolin Pienkos visited the Jugendcollege and casted a total of five background actors for the opera production “Der Liebestrank” at the Opera Burg Gars .
A great opportunity for the participants, because opera is much more than what you see on stage! The young people will not only get to know artists, but will also have the opportunity to experience integration behind and on stage in a diverse team. Perhaps one or the other will also be curious about an apprenticeship as an event technician, make-up artist, tailor, metal worker or carpenter.
A recorded performance of the production will be shown on ORF3 in the summer.
Well then: break a leg to the fresh actors!

Successful skills assessment: 23 young people start the compulsory school leaving certificate course
Tomorrow is Human Rights Day. Education is a human right, and young people in the Interface Wien project Basisbildung are demonstrating what becomes possible when this right is put into practice. For 24 young people and young adults between the ages of 16 and 24, it was an important step: they took the skills assessment – a written test in German, mathematics, and English that qualifies them for entry into the compulsory school leaving certificate course.
A day full of feedback – basic education is taking a break
On November 12th, the Basic Education project, with around fifty employees, gathered for its annual team retreat – and chose a place that seemed perfectly suited for meeting and reflection: Miller-Aichholz Castle in the Europahaus, nestled in the quiet, late autumn landscape.
New information group “Working in Austria”: Startbegleitung responds to current developments
On November 18th, Interface Wiens Startbegleitung launched the new information group "Working in Austria" for the first time.
The reason for this is highly topical: With the changes to minimum income support passed in Vienna on November 19, which will come into effect on January 1, 2026, those granted subsidiary protection will lose their entitlement to minimum income support. This decision significantly worsens the social situation of many affected individuals and makes rapid entry into the labor market a crucial necessity.
