Interface Wien is doing opera again!
…and here we go again! After the outstanding premiere last summer, this year for the second time, teenagers and young adults from our projects were casted for a theatre internship in cooperation with the Opera Burg Gars . This time, in addition to participants from our project StartWien College also participants of our project InterSpace – Basisbildung für Jugendliche were included!
The theatre internship offers young people a unique opportunity to experience opera up close and personal, not only to stand on a big stage, meet artists and work in a colourful and diverse team, but also to experience a wide variety of jobs available through apprenticeships (such as event technicians, make-up artists, tailors or carpenters) in action – because opera is much more than what you see on stage!
The premiere of “La Traviata" last Saturday was a complete success – not just for the theater interns! A huge thank you goes to our wonderful colleague, the German trainer and theater maker Andrija, who, through his versatility, gave our participants this access to opera, as well as to the directing duo Carolin Pienkos & Cornelius Obonya and the Burg Gars Opera for supporting this unique exchange!
