Learning with all senses: Basic education at Interface Vienna
Colors, focused faces, collaborative problem-solving, team laughter: The artistic photo medley for Basisbildung für Jugendliche of Interface Wien impressively demonstrates what learning means here. In the Basisbildung for adolescents and young adults – many of them new to Austria and with refugee background – holistic learning is at the heart of what we do. Language and basic skills are developed, but it is above all the creative units that shape everyday life. Through artistic work, hands-on crafting, and project-based learning, different senses are engaged and talents become visible.
The photo medley created by creative trainer Esin Turan makes this atmosphere tangible: those who are allowed to create discover their own abilities. Those who work in a team experience a sense of togetherness. And those who carry out projects gain new perspectives for their further educational and professional paths. Young people who have recently arrived in Vienna work with focus on their goals – whether it’s graduating, starting a training program, or entering working life.
