Look into our projects: Literacy goes Poly
With the new school year, a new round of our Lernhilfe coursesstarted at five polytechnic and vocational secondary school locations in Vienna. New: Lernhilfe Alpha courses - literacy courses for non-regular students. In 20 hours per week, second language learners and students who have little or no reading and writing skills have the opportunity to improve their knowledge of the German language.
The lessons take place in small groups of a maximum of 12 students and are designed to be action-oriented - excursions are also on the program. After good preparation in the course, the group from FMS/PTS Vienna 18, for example, practiced shopping at the Kutschgermarkt - and took a trip to the Prater. The group from FMS Im Zentrum trained their fine motor skills by painting with brushes and creating pictures - with a fitting trip to the Kunsthaus Wien.
